“I am a graduate from Ferris State University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Education, Magna Cum Laude/2006. In addition, I obtained my Vocational Certification through the State of Michigan, Interim Occupational Certificate, Therapeutic Services. I also have completed my Master’s Degree in Career and Technical Education/Post-Secondary Administration, Highest Distinction/2016.
I’m affiliated with and in good standing with Baker College, Flint in the Health Science Department, where I have taught many classes in human anatomy/physiology, and medical terminology. My teaching experience at Mott Community College, Baker College of Port Huron and Clinton townships has been an amazing contribution to my career as a dental assisting instructor. Not to mention serving on both Mott and Baker College Dental Assisting advisory boards when invited, has expanded my viewpoint.
I’m a registered (RDA) and certified dental assistant (CDA) in the Flint, Burton, and Saginaw dental communities. I’m also connected with University of Michigan Dental School, in Ann Arbor. I have volunteered as a board examiner for the Michigan RDA exam, many times for additional insight and process.
I’m an active member in the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA), Genesee District Dental Assisting Society (GDDAS), and The National Association of Dental Assistants (NADA) since 2000. I have just transitioned into being the Michigan Dental Assistants Association (MDAA) Presidents role November 2018.
I have many personal interests and my family is very important to me. I have 2 nephew’s Brendan, Evan, and a niece Emily. I really love being an Aunt and planning activities with them whenever I can. I’m a member of the Flint institute of Art and the Friends of Modern Art. I have a fondness to paint and listen to music. I enjoy all sporting activities and try to eat healthy and stay as active as possible. Oh yes, finally, I adore traveling any time, to any place!”
